Seville, ANDALUCIA, Sept. 17, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- For many Americans, the idea of moving to Southern Europe starts with a dream: better weather, a different pace of life, rich culture and a sense of adventure. Turning the dream into reality, however, involves a long list of practical, financial and personal decisions.
A new YouTube series, Moving to Spain, aims to show what that process is really like through the experiences of Americans who have already made the move to Spain.
Launching on Thursday, September 17, 2026, the series features a new episode each month, with each episode exploring the journey from initial planning through to everyday life in Spain with different Americans who’ve done it.
Although every move is different, many people face the same questions. Where should you live? How much research should you do before you leave the U.S.? Should you rent first or buy? Which visa is right for you, and how early should the process begin?
Then there are financial and administrative issues to consider, including Spanish banking, international currency transfers, property searches, what to do with your U.S. retirement and brokerage accounts and investments, and how your tax filing will be affected by a move overseas.
Rather than being an instruction manual, the series focuses on personal experiences and stories, including what they did before moving, what went well, what proved harder than expected and what they would do differently if they were starting again.
The conversations also explore the reality of life after arrival: how life abroad compares with expectations, the biggest cultural adjustments, the best aspects of life abroad, as well as the challenges.
“Moving to Spain can be an incredibly exciting decision, but there are also a lot of practical questions to work through before you get on the plane,” said Shane Clark of EuroAmerican Financial Advisors, one of the series sponsors. “What struck us is how often the same questions come up: where to live, visas, finding a home, moving money, banking and investments, and adjusting to a different way of life. We wanted to hear stories directly from other Americans who have already been through it.”
The series is jointly sponsored by EuroAmerican Financial Advisors, Klev&Vera, Lumon and Dream Nest Spain, four firms who work with Americans moving to and living in Spain.
By combining first-hand experience with the practical issues people encounter along the way, Moving to Spain is designed to help prospective movers plan earlier, ask better questions and approach the process with more realistic expectations.
The first episode is available to watch on YouTube on Thursday, September 17 at this link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGCqMA0ttf0, with new episodes following monthly.
